Child Protective Services (CPS) is a department of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. The sole purpose of CPS is to investigate reports of child abuse or neglect. By law, the person who makes the report is anonymous. CPS can only remove a child if you agree or if ordered by a Judge.
When Child Protective Services initiates an investigation parents are often left to wonder what their rights are regarding CPS requests. Jennifer Janis Law can communicate with CPS directly to help make sure that your rights are considered.
When CPS removes a child from his or her parents, CPS will file a lawsuit that seeks to modify or terminate parental rights. The process can be terrifying and confusing for parents. Our firm has years of experience representing parents in these types of cases.
Family members, foster parents, or other adults with a close connection to the children may have the ability to intervene in an existing CPS lawsuit. Jennifer Janis Law can file interventions to help these individuals become a party in the CPS legal case, with the ability to ask for relief and to assist in requesting termination of parental rights if necessary.
Let us help assist you with your CPS litigation needs. Our team can provide you with the compassionate and dedicated representation you deserve.
